Don’t know what to get Dad for Father’s Day? That’s OK, I didn’t either. I usually get my dad cooking ingredients from Williams-Sonoma, which he loves, but that’s starting to get a little old so I decided I want to branch out this year. Here are five of my favorite ideas right now.
1. If he likes Asian food or dining with a view take him out to Buddha Sky Bar in Delray Beach (561.266.9898). It has a prix-fixe dinner menu for Father’s Day ($29.) Buddha is a pan-Asian fusion restaurant in a glass-encased atrium atop a three-story building on Atlantic Avenue, offering a stunning view of buzzing Atlantic Avenue for miles. The multi-course dinner includes: asian caesar salad and your choice one of each of the following: soup, sushi, dim sum, wok and side dish. Dinner is from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
2. If your dad is into exotic luxury cars but can’t afford one set him up with a rental from Gotham Dream Cars. A Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce could be his to zoom along A1A for a weekend. Rentals are super expensive (from $895 to more than $4,000/day), so you might want to save up and do it next year instead. If you do want to rent in Dania Beach or Miami this year, you have to give the New York office 2+ days notice to allow them transferring to South Florida, so call TODAY (561.992.8700).
Cheaper option: OK, so you’re not going to get a Rolls Royce, but you could get him a convertible or a luxury rental car for a day through a regular rental service like Enterprise or Hertz. The Hertz near me currently has an Eclipse Spyder and Volvo C70 Convertible (a little more than $100/day), but check locations near you to see inventories.
4. If he likes his iPad get him a nice case. I like this leather flip case ($148) from Neiman Marcus, but Apple has lots too.
